Introduction

Dutchie just published a national customer story on Luxury Leaf, a St. Louis dispensary and one of Bud Authority's clients, and the search results behind it are the part we are proud of. Luxury Leaf is the first Black and woman-owned dispensary in Missouri, co-founded by Mike Williams. Dutchie names Bud Authority directly as the organic search partner behind the store's growth.

You can read the full customer story on Dutchie here: How Luxury Leaf Built a 73% Repeat Visit Rate with Dutchie.

Section 01

The Numbers Dutchie Reported

Dutchie's story pairs platform outcomes with the search work that feeds them. A few of the headline figures:

  • 73% repeat visit rate since Loyalty and Marketing Pro launched in December 2025
  • 26% year over year gross profit growth
  • 24% of transactions running through Pay by Bank last month

Those are strong retail and platform outcomes. The two numbers closest to our work sit right next to them:

  • 35% increase in search impressions quarter over quarter
  • 30% increase in non-branded clicks since launch

Non-branded clicks matter more than the raw number suggests. Branded clicks are people already looking for Luxury Leaf by name. Non-branded clicks are new demand, people searching for what they want and finding Luxury Leaf instead of a competitor. Growing that 30% is how a single storefront widens its catchment without paying for ads it is not allowed to run.

Section 02

What Bud Authority Did

Cannabis operators cannot lean on Google Ads or Meta the way most retailers do. That makes organic search the primary acquisition channel, not a nice to have. For Luxury Leaf we treated the two things most agencies keep separate, the website's search presence and the Dutchie menu, as one system.

As Bud Authority co-founder Mark Wallace put it in the Dutchie story:

> "When your search presence and menu live in the same place, you stop guessing and start compounding."

That is the whole thesis. When the menu is indexable and the site is built to earn non-branded rankings, every product page and every local query feeds the same engine instead of splitting effort in two. The impressions and non-branded clicks Dutchie reported are what compounding looks like over a couple of quarters.

Bud Authority is what happened when two people who saw the same problem from opposite ends decided to join forces. Co-founder David Peterson, a tech entrepreneur and operator, brought a maniacal obsession with process, strategy, and execution at scale. Co-founder Mark Wallace brought deep cannabis relationships and a philosophy built on trust and relationship building. Neither side wins alone. Together they cover the full gamut, and a result like Luxury Leaf is what that combination produces.

David put it this way:

> "Most agencies sell dispensaries bloat and big promises and hope nobody checks the results. I come at this as an operator and a builder, so we do the opposite. We cut the noise, get to the real problem, and put cutting-edge technology to work at scale. Luxury Leaf is the proof. Mike built something that matters, and our job was to make sure the people searching for it could find it and keep coming back."

Section 03

In the Operator's Words

The part that stuck with us is what Mike Williams said about what the growth actually buys:

> "When you come in, we're calling you by name, not because we just scanned your ID, because we see you every week."

Search gets a new customer through the door. Retention keeps them. A 73% repeat visit rate is what happens when acquisition and experience are both working, and it is why we care about non-branded discovery in the first place. The goal was never impressions for their own sake. It was more of the right people finding the store, then coming back.

Section 04

Why This Matters for Your Dispensary

Luxury Leaf is a single storefront in a competitive market that grew search visibility and new demand without the ad channels other industries take for granted. That is the same problem nearly every dispensary we work with is trying to solve.

If you want the same approach applied to your store, start with a look at where your search presence and your menu are leaking demand today.

Congratulations to Mike Williams and the entire Luxury Leaf team. We are glad Dutchie told this story, and we are glad we got to build the search engine underneath it.
